The Artist

Prof. Lee Ho Young, born 1957 in Seoul, Korea: studied 1982-1987 at Pratt Institute in New York for Industrial Design (MID). He is a professor at the Art College of Keimyung University, Taegu, Korea and works as a director of Leeahn gallery. Ho-Young Lee has been a visiting scholar at the Pratt Institute in 1999.

He was awarded numerous exhibitions with grand prize for the Taegu Industrial Design Exhibition and won the special prize for the National Industrial design Exhibition.

Ho-Young Lee is an interdisciplinary designer dedicated to principles of flexibility, mobility and simplicity. His work is streamlined and modern; he creates new products by stripping them down to their essential function and meaning.

Ho-Young Lee stylized sleek, clean-lined modernism that does not lose its warmth, functionality, or aesthetic appeal. His design is simple and balanced, showing an interest in materials without necessarily calling attention to them.

When serving the Korean incubator association KOBIA, Korean Business Incubation Association as a president he initiated many international contacts and cooperation. Now, as Honorary President of KOBIA he still puts much emphasis on supporting porting cross-border activities Creating the draft triangle during the St. Louis SPICE meeting he was supported by his Korean delegation. Meanwhile the team continued the creative process at a meeting in Shanghai and found an artist that created the final Korean Triangle that is shown on this page.
